Church History
Mid-Hudson Christian Church is affiliated with Elim Gospel Fellowship, (Lima, New York). Rev. Don and Lois Richter founded the church in 1978 and continued to pastor until 1998. They helped establish core values on worship, prayer, spiritual gifts, the gospel arts and missions that are foundational in MHCC today. Pastors Don and Lois resigned to establish Harvest Preparation International, a Florida-based ministry that equips developing nations with ministry resources through leadership seminars, short- term missions and networking with other international ministries. Mid-Hudson Christian Church welcomed Pastor Patrick Burden and his wife Angela Kays-Burden and family in 1998. Pastor Pat continues to lead the congregation as a community of believers seeking to share God’s love in family, church life and the market place. Pastor Pat, supported by elders and leaders within the church, is engaged in regional initiatives with other local pastors and spiritual leaders with the goal of establishing unity and affecting the community in our Mid Hudson Valley. Pastor Pat and Angie encourage our MHCC family to reach beyond the local church to further advance the cause of Christ worldwide. They support and teach those in their pastoral care to know God’s unconditional love, to grow and mature in all walks of life, and to influence others by making Christ known to the world.
